Manchester City have been drawn to meet Hamburg in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup following Friday's draw in Nyon, Switzerland.

Mark Hughes' men, who needed penalties to scrape past Aalborg in the last round, have been disappointing on their travels all season and now face a tough trip to Germany to meet Hamburg in the first leg of their tie.

Hamburg came from 2-0 down to beat Galatasaray 3-2 in Istanbul on Thursday night and are very much in the race for the Bundesliga title.

The second leg at Eastlands will also mean a return to England for Hamburg's former Tottenham boss Martin Jol.

Elsewhere, Werder Bremen will take on the last Italian club left in European competition this season, Udinese.

There is also a battle between France and Ukraine, with Paris Saint-German hosting Dynamo Kiev and Marseille play Shakhtar Donetsk.

The first leg of the quarter-finals will be played on April 9 and the second on April 16.
