Sheva keen on Milan stay

Tuesday, April 7, 2009

Andriy Shevchenko may not have had much success at AC Milan this term, but the Ukrainian hitman hopes to stay beyond the end of the season.

The former Rossoneri hero is currently on a season-long loan at Milan from Chelsea after failing to impress at Stamford Bridge.

The 32-year-old has endured a difficult return to the San Siro, struggling to hold down a regular place in Carlo Ancelotti's side and starting just two Serie A matches.

But Shevchenko seems to be settling back into life with a goal against England for Ukraine on Wednesday as well as his assist on Filippo Inzaghi's goal against Lecce last Sunday.

"I'm hoping to stay at Milan next year but no decision has been taken yet," Sheva told the club's official website.

"I am on good form after a goal at Wembley for the Ukraine and an assist yesterday for Milan.

"I want to continue on this road and to give my best up until the end of the season.

"I want to be better for the fans and if they are pleased with me then that makes me happy."
