AC Milan star David Beckham believes Chelsea would be getting "one of the greats" if they lure Carlo Ancelotti to Stamford Bridge.

Milan coach Ancelotti is expected to take over at the Blues this summer and Beckham seemed to accept that his boss will be moving to England.

Becks told The Sun: "I just wish I had been able to play for him for many more years — it’s been a lot of fun.

"That’s not just me saying that, that’s not just my opinion.

"Every single one of the Milan players loves him, adores him and doesn’t want him to go.

"They are pleading with him to stay. I know wherever he goes and whatever he does he will always have my admiration and respect.

"For me he is simply unbelievable, a great man, a great manager.

"His man-management skills are absolutely exceptional, he is a brilliant coach.

"To have played under a manager of his quality is a real privilege. He is one of the greats.

"I have been lucky in my career to play under a few of the best in the business — and he certainly comes into that category."
