Loan star Jô returns to Goodison Park

Everton have extended the services of Brazilian striker Jô for a further season after agreeing a deal with Manchester City.

The 22-year-old spent spent five months on loan at Goodison Park last term having struggled to find form at Mark Hughes' side since his £18 million switch from CSKA Moscow last summer.

He scored five goals in 12 appearances for the Toffees, with boss David Moyes full of praise for the ease in which he settled in on Merseyside.

Jô was expected to return to City but the arrival of Roque Santa Cruz from Blackburn Rovers last month has put his future at Eastlands in doubt.
