Champions League: CSKA Moscow 1-1 Sevilla

Thursday, February 25, 2010

Mark González scored a brilliant long-range equaliser to earn CSKA Moscow a hard-earned 1-1 draw against Sevilla in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash.

Sevilla took the lead in the 25th minute when Jesús Navas sent a perfect low cross that bisected the two CSKA centre-backs and their goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev and allowed Álvaro Negredo a simple tap-in at the far post.

CSKA drew level in the 66th minute as González, who joined CSKA last summer from Sevilla's local rivals Real Betis, smashed home an unstoppable 35-yard drive that flew into the far side of the net.
