AS Roma are on the brink of securing qualification into the Last 16 in the Champions League after defeating FC Basel 3-2 in a thrilling contest in Switzerland.
Jérémy Menez opened the scoring for Roma on 16 minutes with a delicious slide-rule finish from the edge of the box and Francesco Totti increased the advantage 10 minutes later from the penalty spot after John-Arne Riise had been fouled.
Basel pulled a goal back on 69 minutes through Alexander Frei before substitute Leandro Greco made an immediate impact by scoring his team's third goal on 76 minutes.
The hosts responded again through Xherdan Shaqiri with seven minutes remaining before Basel midfielder Valentin Stocker was dismissed for a second bookable offense in stoppage-time.
