Champions League Group A: Tottenham 3-1 Inter Milan

Wednesday, November 3, 2010

Gareth Bale produced another mesmerising performance as Tottenham Hotspur demolished Champions League holders Inter Milan 3-1 at White Hart Lane.

Rafael van der Vaart put Spurs ahead in the 18th minute as he slipped the offside trap to fire home after a brilliant dribble and reverse pass from Luka Modrić.

The night got even better for the home fans just past the hour mark when Peter Crouch tapped in from close range after an excellent work down the left from Bale.

Samuel Eto'o pulled a goal back with 11 minutes remaining to set up a nervy finish, but Spurs snuffed out the comeback a minute from time when yet more astonishing wing play from Bale put the ball on a plate for substitute Roman Pavlyuchenko to slot home.
