Germany international Wiese frustrated the hosts with a string of spectacular saves after Halil Altıntop's own goal had gifted Werder the lead.

Then with 64 minutes on the clock, Frankfurt had a chance to equalize through Theofanis Gekas, only to be denied by a brilliant double stop from the Bremen shot-stopper.

Wiese first palmed away a Gekas shot in a one-on-one situation before tipping a header from the Greek striker on to the bar, leaving Gekas shaking his head in disbelief.

But Frankfurt eventually equalized seven minutes from time via substitute Martin Fenin and the game finished 1-1.
