Champions League Group G: Porto 2-1 Shakhtar Donetsk

Wednesday, September 14, 2011

Portuguese champions FC Porto came from a goal behind to claim a 2-1 victory over nine-man Shakhtar Donetsk on home soil in Group G of the Champions League.

Luiz Adriano put the visitors ahead on 12 minutes but Hulk, who had earlier seen his penalty come back off the post, levelled shortly before the half-hour mark when he scored from a free-kick.

Yaroslav Rakitskiy was then dismissed five minutes before interval and Kléber put Porto ahead in the 51st minute after good work from James Rodríguez.

Dmytro Chygrynskiy then picked up a second yellow card and joined Rakitskiy in an early bath 10 minutes from time to complete a miserable night for the Ukrainian champions.
