La Liga: Real Madrid 7-1 Osasuna

Monday, November 7, 2011

Real Madrid bagged their seventh consecutive league win with a 7-1 annihilation of 10-man Osasuna at the Bernabéu.

Cristiano Ronaldo put Madrid into the lead after 23 minutes when he headed home an Ángel di María cross from the right wing.

Osasuna drew level when Ibrahima Baldé slotted home from close range on 29 minutes, but the hosts scored two quickfire goals thereafter through Pepe and Gonzalo Higuaín before the break.

Madrid extended the lead when Ronaldo fired in a penalty in the 54th minute after defender Eneko Satrustegui was shown a red card for bringing down Mesut Özil inside the area.

The Portugal international then completed his hat-trick just four minutes later to record his fourth three-goal game in the league this season before substitute Karim Benzema added further gloss to the scoreline with a late brace.
