Ryan Pearson was so sure Miller had no chance of scoring against England last week that the 20-year-old promised on Twitter that he would get the striker's name tattooed on his rear end if the Vancouver Whitecaps man did manage to score.

The hospital worker turned out to be the only member of the Tartan Army left heartbroken when Miller found the net at Wembley.

After Miller scored, the tweet went viral, and left Ryan with no option but to get inked, no matter how much of a pain in the backside it may be.

He told the Scottish Daily Record: "I was a bit nervous at first but I'm glad it's over. It was a bit sore, but it will probably take a few days for it to sink in what I have done.

"I'm glad I did it though. I wasn't even drunk when I sent out the tweet, so I don't even have that as an excuse.

"When Kenny scored, I did celebrate at first, but then my mates remembered what I had promised – and they weren't going to let me renege."

The four-word-phrase tattoo was done by tattoo artist Kevin Mooney, of Oldtime Classic Tattoo parlour, who waived the usual £50 fee.

Mr Mooney added: "This is one of the more unusual requests we have had. We generally don't do football tattoos, but once Ryan's tweet went viral we decided to do it for him.

"The tattoo went really well, he sat still very well. The bum is a bit of a nippy place to get done but Ryan hardly flinched."

Meanwhile, Miller was asked if he had heard of Ryan, in which he smiled and said: "Who hasn't? He made a stupid statement and it came back to bite him on the bum."
