Harry Kewell submitted his entry for the worst penalty miss ever with an awful spot-kick in Melbourne Heart's 2-1 loss to Sydney FC at Allianz Stadium on Sunday.
Alessandro Del Piero put the Sky Blues in front in the 43rd minute while Serbian striker Ranko Despotović struck just three minutes later.
The visitors had a chance to get one back when a Nick Kalmar shot came off the hand of Joel Chianese in the 67th minute.
Kewell stepped up to the mark but somehow managed to kick the ball straight into the ground, causing it to veer embarrassingly away from goal and out for a goal kick.
Michael Mifsud finally pulled a goal back on 72 minutes but Kewell's miss proved crucial as the Heart couldn't find the equaliser.
