Sergio Agüero would be close to playing with Lionel Messi in Barcelona, according to reports in Argentina.
Reports in the Argentine press suggest that the Atlético Madrid player has made up his mind and Barça president Joan Laporta is already carrying out negotiations.
The reports claim that Barcelona will pay the €55 million buy-out clause for the former Independiente man.
The 20-year-old striker was linked with a move to Chelsea and Manchester City in the summer, but both Atlético and the player himself was quick to say that their relationship would last for long.
"I do not want to move from Atlético Madrid because there is no reason to change. I will stay at Atlético Madrid, two seasons, or as required," Agüero said during his campaign with Argentina in the Olympic Games in Beijing.
Agüero joined the La Liga outfit from Independiente for €20 million in May 2006, and has since become their most valuable player.
