Lazio have confirmed a one game sponsorship agreement with Digital Brothers, the exclusive distributor for game Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 in Italy.
The club announced the deal on their official website, www.sslazio.it: "Thanks the partnership with Lazio, PES 2009 breaks a new record as it's the first video game to become the main sponsor of a team for one game in the Serie A Championship, passing from the virtual to the real football pitch."
Both parties will hold a special press conference on December 5 at Formello to explain the new deal.
The contract will see the Biancocelesti wear a special shirt for the match against Serie A leaders Inter Milan this Saturday.
It's only for one match though and it is not yet known whether replica jerseys will be produced for the fans.
Thanks to the partnership, Lazio now become the first football club to be sponsored by a famous video game.
Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 is the most beloved video game in Italy, and remains at the top of standings of Italian and international sales.
Since it's launch in October, 675,000 copies of the game have been sold in Italy alone.
