Agüero denies Inter link

Tuesday, January 20, 2009

Atlético Madrid star Sergio Agüero has ruled out a possible move to Inter Milan despite being advised to join the Nerazzurri by Diego Maradona.

Maradona told Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport last week that Agüero would be better off joining the Italian champions, where he believed he would form a great partnership with Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimović.

But the 20-year-old striker insisted he does not listen to everything his national team coach tells him and is happy to stay where he is.

He told El Mundo Deportivo: "Diego doesn't come to Madrid very often and he doesn't stay at my house, he comes to see players.

"He doesn't influence me at all. The only thing he does is explain to me what football is like.

"I didn't listen to him even though he said I'd make a good pairing with Ibrahimovic.

"I don't think about other teams. Atlético treat me well and I hope that continues."
