Cannavaro blasts arrogant Ibrahimović

Wednesday, January 7, 2009

Two former Juventus teammates, Fabio Cannavaro and Zlatan Ibrahimović, evidently did not get along, as the Azzurri captain has launched a stinging attack on the Swedish striker.

The Italian defender has revealed that he was often taunted by Ibrahimović when they were part of Fabio Capello's Juventus side back in 2006 before they went separate ways after Calciopoli.

The Swede’s arrogance is a well known character trait, but it seems as if Cannavaro did not appreciate this behaviour.

"When we were playing together at Juve, he told me: 'If you won the Scudetto aged 30 it was thanks to me. Before that you hadn't won anything,'" Cannavaro told Chi magazine.

"We went our separate ways after that as he joined Inter Milan and I came to Real Madrid. Since then I’ve won the World Cup, a Ballon d'Or and another two La Liga titles. I crushed him!

"For the moment if he wants to hold the Ballon d'Or his best chance is to come over to my house!"
