Atlético Madrid star Sergio Agüero has become a father after his girlfriend Giannina, one of the daughters of Diego Maradona, gave birth to a baby boy on Thursday evening.
The baby was not expected to arrive until later on in the month, however, Benjamín Agüero Maradona, as reported by Marca, was born at 19.02 hours on Thursday at the clinic Montepríncipe Madrid. Maradona did not miss the birth of his first grandchild, who weighs 3 kilos and 660 grams and is in perfect condition.
Agüero and Giannina have reportedly been dating for nearly a year now and the birth will no doubt delight Maradona, who has dreamed of becoming a grandfather.
The legendary player has expressed on a few occasions in the past his desire to have a grandson and he will no doubt be as happy as anyone today.
Agüero missed Atlético’s training session on Thursday morning because of the imminent birth. However, he is expected to play against Sevilla on Saturday.
