Blackburn came from behind to secure a crucial 2-1 win at Fulham to drag themselves out of the Premier League's bottom three.

Clint Dempsey fired Fulham in front after just 98 seconds when horrendous defending allowed the American to roll Blackburn defenders Christopher Samba and Ryan Nelsen before prodding the ball past Paul Robinson.

After 17 minutes, and against the run of play, the scores were almost level as Stephen Warnock tried a curler which came back off the upright with Mark Schwarzer beaten.

The visitors, though, had their equaliser on 69 minutes when El-Hadji Diouf popped up to turn in Samba’s header.

Jason Roberts completed the comeback with an 85th-minute winner, turning Fulham substitute Toni Kallio before lashing powerfully beyond Schwarzer.

With the match seemingly in the bag, the visitors still needed Robinson to produced a top-drawer stop at the death as Erik Nevland went for goal in the dying moments.
