Van der Vaart reveals frustration with Juande Ramos

Wednesday, March 25, 2009

Rafael van der Vaart believes that the arrival of Juande Ramos at Real Madrid has cost him the most.

The Dutchman has found himself on the fringes of the team since the coaching change and he admits there are problems in his relationship with the Spaniard.

"I believe that clearly I am the biggest loser from the departure of (Bernd) Schuster and then the arrival of Juande Ramos," the 26-year-old told De Telegraaf.

"Apparently the coach does not trust me and that is that.

"If I had the feeling that I could change things then I would speak to him, but right now I do not have many hopes. Besides, he sees me train every day and the truly bizarre thing is that I feel fit and well trained in Madrid."

He added: "I was afraid to be left out of the national team for the first time. It would have been one of the hardest moments of my career.

"Fortunately, (Dutch coach Bert) van Marwijk has shown the confidence in me that Real Madrid have not."
