Inter Milan squandered a two-goal lead in the space of three minutes to draw 2-2 with Palermo at the San Siro.

Zlatan Ibrahimović sprung the offside trap to go one-on-one with Marco Amelia in the 10th minute, but his attempted lob over the goalkeeper missed the far post.

Inter broke the deadlock five minutes later thanks to a defensive howler. Moris Carrozzieri completely lost Mario Balotelli and the Inter striker showed no mercy as he flicked in Sulley Muntari's cross inside the near post.

Balotelli again got away from Carrozzieri two minutes later, but his chip was over the bar as Amelia came tearing out.

Ibrahimović added a second from the spot shortly before the break after the referee awarded a soft penalty for Simon Kjær's tussle with the Swede.

But Palermo produced a battling display in the second half and with 17 minutes to go Edison Cavani gave the Rosanero hope, placing an angled drive past Francesco Toldo at the near post.

Two minutes later the Sicilian side completed the shock comeback as Davide Succi swept in the equaliser from six-yard.

Fabrizio Miccoli almost grabbed a spectacular winner as he dribbled his way through the Inter defence before shooting just wide.

Juventus failed to take advantage of Inter Milan's slip-up as they lost 3-2 to Genoa in a dramatic encounter at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

Thiago Motta put the home side ahead in the 29th minute when he coolly placed his shot low into the bottom corner after the ball broke loose when Giandomenico Mesto fell on his way into the area.

There was controversy, though, as Juventus claimed the referee had blown the whistle for the foul before Motta's strike.

Alessandro Del Piero equalised from the penalty spot after the striker had been fouled by Matteo Ferrari in the last minute of the first half.

But Motta restored Genoa's advantage deep into first-half stoppage time as he headed home an Ivan Jurić corner.

Mauro Camoranesi was shown a straight red card for a terrible high tackle on Giuseppe Sculli on 65 minutes, but Vincenzo Iaquinta pegged Genoa back again six minutes from the end.

However, there was still time for Raffaele Palladino to pop up and secure Genoa's fourth successive victory in Serie A.

Clarence Seedorf 49

AC Milan strengthened their bid for Champions League qualification as they overcame on-form Chievo 1-0 at Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi.

Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti had to watch most of the game from the stands as he was sent from the touchline in the 37th minute after protesting too much.

Clarence Seedorf scored the only goal of the match on 49 minutes as he guided the ball past Stefano Sorrentino after Marek Jankulovski and Filippo Inzaghi had both turned down shooting chances to set him up.

The home side thought they had equalised in the 66th minute when a free kick was deflected past Dida, but the goal was disallowed as both Santiago Morero and Erjon Bogdani were in offside positions.
