Bordeaux announced Thursday that gifted playmaker Yoann Gourcuff has signed a four-year contract with Les Girondins.
The 22-year-old had been on a season-long loan at Stade Chaban-Delmas from AC Milan with the Italian giants giving Bordeaux the option of buying Gourcuff for €15 million.
And Bordeaux have now taken up their option to buy Gourcuff, who was named Ligue 1 Player of the Season by his peers on Sunday.
"I am very happy to continue the adventure I've started with Bordeaux," Gourcuff said on the club's official website, www.girondins.com.
"My decision to sign with the club was taken over the course of the season."
"We managed to create all conditions for a sporting success while fostering true relationships within the squad.
"I learned a lot when I was at AC Milan and I would also like to thank the players and the leaders of the club with which I was learning at the highest level."
