Cristiano Ronaldo has declared that the £80 million Real Madrid are willing to splash out on his signature is an "historic" deal.
The Portugal international got the news that Manchester United had accepted the mega-bid after being out clubbing all night in Los Angeles where he is on holiday.
Speaking to Fox Sports from his hotel room in Beverly Hills, Ronaldo said: "It's flattering when two of the top teams in the world want you to play for them.
"Now I can look forward to Real Madrid and a new stage in my career. I learned about the deal here in LA and heard from my people that United had accepted."
He added: "I have had my time at Manchester United. It's time to look forward and £80 million is quite a sum of money. This deal is historic."
