Inter Milan unveil Samuel Eto'o

Wednesday, July 29, 2009

Inter Milan on Tuesday unveiled Samuel Eto’o after he completed his switch from Spanish and European champions Barcelona.

The Cameroon striker signed a five-year deal with the Nerazzurri on Monday night following the protracted swap deal that saw Zlatan Ibrahimović confirmed as a Barça player just hours earlier.

Though his arrival did not have the same impact as Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival at Real Madrid, Eto’o did express the same hopes in front of some 1,000 fans at Inter's training ground.

He told the media during his presentation: "I thank the fans for their welcome and I will pay them back on the pitch, training seriously and winning as much as possible. It won't be easy but I will try.

"Here in Serie A there are many important players because great players are in teams where they know they will be able to win things. I am here because Serie A is a very competitive league.

"It's true Ibra and Kaká have left but there are many great champions in Italy and I am convinced I have made the best choice."
