Bolton Wanderers have completed the signing of Lee Chung-Yong from FC Seoul after the South Korean international was last night granted a work permit.
The 21-year-old, who is widely regarded as being one of the country's leading young talents, agreed personal terms on a three-year contract with Bolton during a visit to the Premier League club last week, when he also underwent a successful medical.
Bolton have been in talks to sign Lee since the end of last season having being impressed with what they saw of him in a collection of DVDs sent to the club by a representative of the midfielder as well as up-close after he was scouted playing for South Korea in a friendly in Seoul.
"Lee is another good addition to our squad," manager Gary Megson told the club's official website.
"He has got pace and ability. It is great that we have finally been able to get him.
"It is going to be a big challenge for him because he is coming to a new country and a new culture, where he will be facing the demands of the Premier League.
"It will take time for him to settle, but we will be making sure that he is fully supported as he makes that transition."
Lee is Bolton's fifth summer signing following the arrival of Paul Robinson from West Bromwich Albion, Sean Davis from Portsmouth, Sam Ricketts from Hull City and Zat Knight from Aston Villa.
