Argentina's players have took some pressure off coach Diego Maradona after securing a 3-2 victory over Russia.

Igor Semshov fired the Russians ahead in the 17th minute, only for Sergio Agüero to level with a 20-meter drive shortly before half-time.

Lisandro López fired the visitors in front before Jesús Dátolo's long-range effort made it 3-1.

Roman Pavlyuchenko made it 3-2 with a deflected free kick in the 78th minute, but Argentina held on.
