Wayne Rooney has revealed his pride at joining the illustrious list of Manchester United goal-scoring centurions.

The 23-year-old bagged his 100th and 101st goals for the Red Devils in Saturday's 5-0 drubbing of Wigan Athletic.

He becomes only the 20th player in the glittering history of United to have reached the landmark.

"Obviously I'm pleased to have scored 100 goals for Man Utd," the England international told Sky Sports News.

"It's a great achievement, and I'm proud of it, but there is still more goals in me and more games to play so it's not something I have been concentrating on."

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson added: "It is a great achievement and he is only a young lad.

"Some players have been at the club for many years and not reached that total yet. It will do him a world of good.

"Strikers have to score - that is their mantra. If they are not scoring they think the world is at an end.

"When they are scoring they think they will never finish scoring. But that is what they are."
