Premier League: Man United 3-1 Tottenham

Manchester United moved back to the top of the Premier League table, albeit potentially for just 24 hours, after a gritty 3-1 home win over Tottenham Hotspur.

After a goalless first half, United broke the deadlock on 58 minutes when Ryan Giggs converted from the penalty spot after Patrice Evra was brought down by a rash challenge from Benoît Assou-Ekotto.

Ledley King brought the Spurs level with a header on 71 minutes before a piece of magic from Nani restored United's lead 10 minutes later.

The green and gold clad United supporters were still celebrating when Wilson Palacios clambered all over Nani four minutes from time, offering Giggs another spot-kick, which he buried into the opposite corner.
