World Cup 2010 Group D: Ghana 0-1 Germany

Table of Contents
Three-time world champions Germany progressed to the knock-out stages of the World Cup with a 1-0 win over Ghana in Johannesburg.

Mesut Özil scored the only goal of the game in the 60th minute, smashing a left-footed shot from outside the area into the left corner of the net after being fed by Thomas Müller.

Mercifully, although they lost, Ghana also went through to the last 16 after Serbia lost to Australia in Nelspruit.

Ghana will now face the United States in Rustenburg on Saturday, while Germany head to Bloemfontein on Sunday for a date with old rivals England.
