Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini has revealed that striker Edinson Cavani will indeed be leaving for Serie A rivals Napoli this summer.

The 23-year-old has been linked with a move away from Sicily for several weeks but no one expected him to arrive at the San Paolo.

Cavani is thought to cost the Partenopei €16 million after initially joining them on a one-year loan.

"The agreement between Napoli and Palermo was found," Zamparini told Radio Kiss Kiss. "Now they are negotiating with the player's agent the details.

"Cavani is now in Uruguay and then the leaders of Napoli will go there for the signatures.

"With the arrival of Cavani, Napoli will aim high. I'm sorry to strengthen a direct competitor, but Cavani absolutely didn't want to stay in Palermo because there were unfortunately a couple of unpleasant incidents, and we promised to sell him".

Cavani, who bagged 13 goals in Serie A for the Rosanero in 2009/10, will slot into a strike force that already includes the likes of Ezequiel Lavezzi and Fabio Quagliarella.
