Five-time defending champions Inter Milan came from behind to earn a 2-1 win over Palermo at the Stadio Renzo Barbera.
Slovenia midfielder Josip Iličić put Palermo in front in the 28th minute after finishing off a swift counter-attack.
But Samuel Eto'o equalised three minutes later before earning the Nerazzurri all three points with the winner in the 71st minute.
