Real Mallorca inflicted a first home defeat on Valencia with a 2-1 victory at the Mestalla.
Gonzalo Castro fired the visitors ahead with a seventh-minute penalty after Pierre Webó was adjudged to have been fouled inside the area, and Castro then made it 2-0 with a close-range header just before the half-hour mark.
Roberto Soldado halved the advantage in the 36th minute with a coolly taken penalty but Mallorca held on for the win to move to eighth in the table.
