Atlético Madrid missed the chance to climb into the top five in La Liga following a 1-1 draw against Almería at the Vicente Calderón.
The Rojiblancos deservedly took the lead in the 33rd minute when Sergio Agüero darted into the area to blast home his first league goal of the season after Diego Alves pushed José Antonio Reyes' header along the goalline.
Almería equalized on the stroke of half-time as Pablo Piatti smashed a left-footed volley in off near post from outside the area.
