Serie A: Brescia 1-1 Inter Milan

Saturday, March 12, 2011

Inter Milan survived a late penalty scare as they played out a 1-1 draw at Brescia in a match which saw both teams finish with ten men.

The visitors went ahead after 18 minutes when Samuel Eto'o flicked on Andrea Ranocchia's header at the six-yard box following Wesley Sneijder's corner.

Brescia equalized five minutes from time as Alessandro Diamanti's corner was inexplicably headed back into the danger area by Iván Córdoba, allowing Andrea Caracciolo to nod in from six yards.

The hosts then were given an excellent chance to take all three points four minutes later when Córdoba conceded a penalty and was sent off.

Caracciolo stepped up to take the spot-kick but failed to beat Júlio César, and the striker's frustration then got the better of him as he was dismissed earning a second caution for time-wasting.
