Euro 2012 qualifier: England 2-2 Switzerland

Sunday, June 5, 2011

England had to come from two goals down to scrape a 2-2 draw at home to Switzerland in Euro 2012 qualifying Group G.

The Three Lions fell 2-0 behind after 36 minutes as their defense twice failed to deal with Tranquillo Barnetta free-kicks in the space of four minutes at Wembley Stadium.

Frank Lampard pulled one back from the penalty spot two minutes later after Jack Wilshere was brought down by Arsenal team-mate Johan Djourou inside the area.

Half-time substitute Ashley Young then volleyed in an equalizer six minutes into the second-half but England could not snatch all three points.
