The Serie A match between Napoli and Novara was halted after just a minute on Saturday due to a freak injury to referee Daniele Doveri.

Less than a minute into the game, Doveri needed treatment at the side of the pitch from Napoli team doctor Alfonso De Nicola.

The 35-year-old referee signalled for a free-kick to Napoli in the middle of the pitch and appeared to pop his shoulder out of place in the process.

The match was held up for 18 minutes while he received treatment, eventually having the shoulder relocated in the medical room.

Whilst the fourth official did warm up during the hold up, the game resumed at the San Paolo with Doveri officiating.
