Edinson Cavani broke the deadlock from the penalty spot on 63 minutes after Marco Storari brought down Ezequiel Lavezzi inside the area.

Marek Hamšík put the result beyond doubt when he finished off a sweeping counter-attack seven minutes from time.

To add to Juventus' misery, Fabio Quagliarella was sent off in the final minutes of the game for an elbow on Salvatore Aronica to complete their capitulation.

"It was almost unthinkable to beat Juventus over 90 minutes when they hadn't lost all season. It was an achievement within an achievement," said Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri.

Partenopei captain Paolo Cannavaro added: "Certainly there won't be any sleep in Naples tonight. I hope this victory can be a starting point.

"We are a strong squad and perhaps the only thing we were lacking was that victory. We hope this success can help us build next season."
