Atlético Madrid crushed 10-man Getafe 7-0 at the Vicente Calderón on Saturday, with Diego Costa providing the highlight of the evening with a brilliant overhead kick.
Raúl García opened the scoring before Alberto Lopo put past his own goalkeeper, and Getafe's task was made even more difficult when Juan Valera was given his marching orders three minutes before the break.
The visitors completely capitulated in the second period with David Villa scoring in the 49th minute before García heading home his second goal of the night.
Costa then scored Atlético's fifth of the night with a spectacular overhead kick that will be remembered for years.
The Brazilian-born Spanish international found himself behind a cross from teammate Gabi while in the box.
Instead of letting the ball go past him or pass it to a teammate outside the box, Costa leaped and swivelled to power home an audacious overhead kick.
Villa grabbed his second 12 minutes from the end, before Adrián rounded off the superb performance in the third minute of injury time.
"No one expected that because of the way the ball came to him, it was coming back and almost a away from goal," Atlético coach Diego Simeone commented on Costa's goal.
