Legendary Argentina striker Mario Kempes believes that Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is getting better with age.
Ronaldo has begun the current campaign in exceptional form and has even been compared to Madrid great Alfredo Di Stéfano by President Florentino Pérez.
The Portuguese ace has already notched 22 goals and seven assists in all competitions so far this season, helping to fire Los Blancos to the top of La Liga and the next round of the Champions League.
In total Ronaldo has scored 194 league goals in 174 appearances for Madrid, while netting 55 times in 55 Champions League matches for the Spanish giants.
"You've got to acknowledge that Cristiano is getting better all the time," Kempes, who had two spells with Valencia in the early eighties, said in an interview with El Partido de las 12.
"Ronaldo is like wine in that the older it is the better it is, while (Lionel) Messi is playing one or two gears below what he normally does, which is unfortunate for his club.
"The difference between him and Ronaldo is that Cristiano is still hungry to stay amongst the elite and win the Ballon d'Or."
