Former France striker David Trezeguet struck twice to give newly-promoted Hércules a 2-0 success over Sevilla at the Estadio José Rico Pérez.
The home side dominated from the outset and Trezeguet opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 22nd minute after Didier Zokora needlessly tripped Tiago Gomes inside the area.
And the Argentina-born striker was on target again in the 38th minute when he stuck out a knee to divert Kiko's cross into the net.
