Napoli were gifted the chance to go ahead when they were awarded an early penalty but top scorer Edinson Cavani shot against the outside of the left-hand post.
The decisive goal finally arrived on 25 minutes when Juan Zúñiga latched onto Cavani's deflected shot and beat Mariano Andújar inside his near post.
