La Liga round-up: Valencia and Villarreal still unbeaten

Valencia are still unbeaten despite being held to a 1-1 draw at struggling Recreativo Huelva.

Javier Camuñas put the hosts ahead early in the second half before David Villa continued his impressive goal scoring run since Euro 2008 by notching the equaliser on 63 minutes.

Valencia lead the table with 20 points, a point clear of second-placed Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Sevilla lost for the first time this season after suffering a 1-0 home to recently-promoted Málaga .

Adrián López scored the only goal in the 18th minute to end Andrés Palop's club record scoreless streak at 511 minutes, while Sevilla had Adriano sent off midway through the second half for fighting.

Villarreal remains unbeaten after an extraordinary 4-4 draw at home to 10-man Atlético Madrid.

Simão and Diego Forlan put Atlético 2-0 up inside 22 minutes before had Éver Banega sent off on 38 minutes for a second yellow card.

And the hosts took full advantage by scoring three goals in the space of 10 second-half minutes from Marcos Senna, Joseba Llorente and Gonzalo before Giuseppe Rossi bagged a fourth in the 67th minute.

However, late goals from Simão and Raúl Garcia rescued an unlikely point for the visitors.

Reigning champions Real Madrid got the better of Athletic Bilbao in a five-goal thriller at the Bernabeu.

Madrid went ahead after 13 minutes through Wesley Sneijder before Gonzalo Higuaín hit the second in the 29th minute.

But Bilbao stunned the home side by drawing level through Joseba Etxeberria and Andoni Iraola's penalty.

However, Higuaín fired home the winner just before the hour mark before the visitors had Fernando Amorebieta dismissed.
