Los Angeles Lakers duo of Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol has backed Barcelona to beat Manchester United and claim the Champions League crown in Rome tonight.

Gasol is a Spaniard who was born and raised in Catalunya, while Bryant began supporting Barcelona when Frank Rijkaard took over the coaching reins at the Camp Nou in 2003.

"As far as the NBA goes, I'd rather not think about Denver Nuggets now. Not until after the Barcelona game," Gasol told FOXSports.

"I would be the happiest man on earth if Barcelona wins. We want the triple crown.

"I don't care how we do it. Penalty kicks or on the field. It could end 6-5 on pk's as far as I care. I want Barcelona to win."

Bryant added "Of course I am going to be watching the Barcelona game. There are actually a few of us that love soccer on the team."

When asked if he and Gasol would be watching the game together on Wednesday afternoon, Bryant added, "We'll find the time. It shoud be a great game. Can't wait to see who wins.

"But hopefully it will be Barcelona in the end."
