Luciano Spalletti has handed in his resignation as coach of AS Roma just two games into the new Serie A season.
The move follows Roma's 3-1 home defeat against Juventus on Sunday and the 3-2 loss at Genoa.
He said: "I gave my resignation and the club accepted it, so we can consider our working relationship closed."
Spalletti was known to be unhappy with the club's failure to reinforce the squad in the transfer market despite selling Alberto Aquilani to Liverpool for £20 million.
Defenders Nicolás Burdisso, who arrived from Inter Milan, and Marco Motta, signed from Udinese, were the team's most significant acquisitions.
