Chelsea shared a 2-2 draw with APOEL Nicosia at Stamford Bridge to qualify unbeaten from Champions League Group D.

The Cypriots took a shock lead in the sixth minute when Constantinos Charalambides caught Chelsea napping down the left and from his delivery Marcin Żewłakow was able to steer a neat finish beyond Ross Turnbull.

But Michael Essien restored parity seven minutes later with a powerful swerving effort from 25 yards, although the Ghanaian then had to go off injured soon after.

Concern over Essien's injury was softened somewhat before the break as Didier Drogba's crisp low strike gave Chelsea the lead.

John Terry had a goal disallowed late in the second half and his frustration was increased when Nenad Mirosavljević calmly darted onto John Obi Mikel's loose pass to slot home three minutes from time.
