Cristiano Ronaldo is the most Googled soccer player

Portugal may or may not win the World Cup, but Cristiano Ronaldo is already a winner in terms of searches made on the Google search engine.

The Real Madrid ace has scored the most global searches with supporters logging on to the South African showpiece.

"In search, the winning player is already clear: Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese team captain and talented forward," Google said in a blog post on Friday.

Besides Ronaldo, Brazil's Kaká, England's Wayne Rooney, Argentina's Lionel Messi and Wesley Sneijder of the Netherlands are some other popular players being searched on the web right now.
