Premier League: West Ham 1-3 Bolton

Johan Elmander bagged a second-half brace to help Bolton Wanderers to an emphatic 3-1 victory at West Ham.

The Hammers wasted a golden chance to take the lead on 35 minutes when Carlton Cole saw his tame spot-kick well saved by Jussi Jääskeläinen after the striker had been fouled by Grétar Steinsson.

And that miss proved costly three minutes after half-time when Elmander flicked on Jääskeläinen's goal-kick and Upson, under pressure from Kevin Davies, stooped to head the ball past Robert Green and into his own net.

Elmander doubled the lead just after the hour mark with a fine header before Mark Noble buried a 79th minute spot-kick to give the home side a lifeline.

However, any hopes of a late comeback were wrecked when Elmander netted his second of the match with six minutes remaining to wrap up the points.
