Florent Malouda opened the scoring in the 23rd minute as he sidefooted home his seventh goal of the season after good work from Nicolas Anelka and Yuri Zhirkov.
Wolves had chances of their own and held out until nine minutes from time when substitute Salomon Kalou put the finishing touch to a fine move.
