Giuseppe Rossi scored a brace as third-place Villarreal came from behind to beat Real Sociedad 2-1 at El Madrigal.
Diego López's unfortunate own goal gave Sociedad the lead just before the half hour mark, but Rossi drew Villarreal level five minutes before the break.
Rossi grabbed the winner for Villarreal two minutes after the break when he latched onto Santi Cazorla's through-ball to clip the ball delicately beyond the onrushing Claudio Bravo.
