Roberto Soldado scored a late penalty to salvage a 1-1 draw for Valencia against Chelsea in an entertaining Champions League encounter at the Mestalla.
Frank Lampard gave Chelsea the lead with a first-time shot into the bottom corner from Florent Malouda's cutback in the 56th minute.
Valencia responded well, though, and equalised through Soldado's 87th-minute penalty after substitute Salomon Kalou was adjudged to have handled a cross inside the area.
