Ten-man Manchester City maintained their unbeaten start to the season after holding on for a 1-1 draw against Liverpool at Anfield.
The visitors took the lead on 31 minutes as Vincent Kompany glanced home a header into the far corner after Dirk Kuyt and Glen Johnson got in each other's way.
But Liverpool equalised within two minutes when Charlie Adam's shot took a huge deflection off Joleon Lescott to leave City goalkeeper Joe Hart completely wrong-footed.
And after substitute Mario Balotelli was sent off after picking up two bookings in his 18 minutes on the pitch, Hart pulled off a fantastic double save from Andy Carroll and Luis Suárez in injury time to deny Liverpool the victory.
